Assignment 25 : my childhood memories

Childhood memory 1. When I first went to the docks when i was 7 years old, we had a huge family picnic and me and my cousin played at the park and went swimming for over 6 hours before our parents made us go home.

Childhood memory 2. When i was 5 years old i first went to the store without my parents and me and my cousin bought over 40 dollars of food even though we were supposed to only spend 20 dollars. We bought a lot of junk food and we ate it all with all of mine and his freinds because we couldnt eat all of it alone.

Childhood memory 3. My favorite toy i used was when i was 4 years old i got my bike, I played outside on my bike for over 3 hours a day because i would always be with my freinds racing around or just using it to go look at other people in diffrent places. My bike was all red and it was passed down to me from my brother even though i didnt use it that much when it was first given to me.

Childhood memory 4. My 2nd favorite toy i used was my Nintendo 64 in which i played every game that was ins tyle like donkey kong and street fighters etc. I played this game system every day with my older brothers and sisters, although we hated sharing the system because we all wanted to play so much we ended up finding equal times to play while the other people are busy.

Childhood memory 5. One of my favorite book series were the goosbumps books because i loved scary books and they interested me.

Childhood memory 6. One of my favorite books was a book about a kid who has a dream about going to a land of monsters and finds out that him being king isnt all what he thought it would be, this land he could do anything without any parents and then when he wanted to go home the monsters wouldnt let him and he got scared without his family so he woke up.

Childhood memory 7. Another item I used a lot was a dump truck that i put sand in at the park and rode around and brought it everywhere with me.

Childhood memory 8. The Godzilla puppet that me and my cousin scared people with because we acted  like it was real and all the kids got scared. It was grey and black and had huge spines and a big mouth.

Childhood memory 9.  Playing the oldest game boy, i played mario for the first time on the game boy and i played it for over 2 weeks straight because i was addicted to it.

Childhood memory 10. My favorite toy was my streo because i used to listen to so much music and blast it every day but I broke it by pouring water on it by accident and i wasw sad for over 3 weeks.

Blog assignment 24

If i was going to vote on may 2nd for priminister of Canada, I would vote for NDP and their party leader Jack layton. I think that Jack layton would do the best job as the priminister of canada because he not only promises to give money to well deserving canadian families, but to also make more suppotive jobs. He also doesnt promise so much that it wont happen, he promises enough to make sure that what he is saying, he can do and he does not say more than what he can do. For example he says "we will reduce small buisness tax from 11 percent to 9 percent". Now even thiough that is not that much, it makes a big diffrence in long term effects. He also says he will help the Investement canada act by " reducing the threshold for investment subject to review to $100 million". He also said he would continue canada's commitment to balance the federal budget in 4 years, as per the department of finance projections.

history fair reflection:4 3 2 1

4: The four most important things you learned while researching this topic.
The four most important things i learned while researching CPR migration was,
1:that immigration after the CPR was made it peaked about 10 years later instead of directly after it was made.
2: That Chinese immigrants often spent there money on trying to stay in Canada but did not get payed enough while working on the railroad to stay in Canada.
3:The migration to Canada peaked in 1910 with over 100,000 people immigrating to  Canada.
4:The CP(company who created CPR) also set up hotels along stops of the Canadian Pacific Railway so that tourists would be tempted to start living in Canada.

3:Things you felt proud of during the fair
Three things i felt proud of during the fair are,
1:All the judges that saw me said i have an excellent connection to my topic.
2:My poster was appealing to some judges.
3:I felt that my poster was good and that my speech was good.

2:Two specific researching or presentation techniques that were helpful to make your project so wonderful.
Two specific researching or presentation techniques that were helpful to making my project so wonderful are,
1:Researching the website CPR our history helped my presentation because it gave me the most information about my topic.
2:A presentation technique that helped me was to give eye contact to people so they didn't think i was boring and dull they thought i was trying to talk to them so they didn't want to leave.

1:One suggestion to make the History Fair even better in the future.
One suggestion i have for future history fairs ishave different judges and more judges because not everybodies poster got viewed as much as others and i think that there should be more planning time on the topics of your project.

Assignment 19 100$

If i had 100$ to donate to any charity i would pick one laptop one child.

I think that one laptop obne child deserves the full 100 $ to support there program becuase in Canada as a student i find that using computers at school helps you get work done in many diffrent ways other thnan writing. It helps you type your work if it is messy, send it to yourself after typing it or print it at school.

I want to spend all my money on donating 105$ to getting laptops delivered to countried that nered them. Since the laptops are about 35 dollars each which means I will donate 3 laptops towards helping other kids complete there work with there new laptops.

I want to spend all my money on donat5ing laptops because i feel it is important for every student everywhere to have a computer to research and type there work at will.

My question for section 2 Black and White

Welcome to section 2 questions for black and White.
Read pages 44 to 74

My question for this section is: why do you think that Tom does not recongize ways to get out of seeing Denyse like when he could have exchanged tickets with bridget. Do you think Tom actually doesnt realize he can do that or do you think he just doesnt want to admit he does want to spend time with Denyse?

POEM

I found a cool poem at this website.

Here it is.

Poem
Dieppe

It was the eighteenth day of August, in nineteen-forty-two
We sailed away from England, and no one knew where to
We had received no orders, no friends to see us leave
The Second Canadian Division, with the blue patch on their sleeve

Early the next morning, when everything was still
We saw those tracer bullets, come at us from the hill
Though we kept right on sailing, and no one will forget
The morning that we landed, on the coast there at Dieppe

The enemy was waiting, and had taken up their post
We met a hail of bullets as we landed on the coast
Every man there landed, or at least he tried
Many men were wounded there, and many more men died

It was early in the morning, when we started in to fight
The mortar bombs came at us, from in front, and left and right
The shells came at us from the cliffs, they bombed us from the air
But the Second Canadian Division, did not so easily scare

We fought there for eight hours, from 6 a.m. till two
Our losses were terrific, but there was nothing we could do
The navy came to help us, but their boats they could not land
So we had to surrender, at Dieppe there on the sand

What is left of us are now prisoners, beneath a foreign flag
Here in the heart of Germany, in this VIII B stalag
Though many of our comrades fell, we never will forget
They gave their lives there fighting, in the battle of Dieppe

When this war is over, and once again we're free
To our homeland we'll be sailing, to a land of liberty
Many have a battle scar, there's no one will forget
The morning that he landed, on the French coast at Dieppe

this poem was made from a person in world war two. His name was Gordon Barnes.
