Hello, this is my Readers respone for section one of black and white.
Question one:
Copy down a quote from a character and explain why you think it's meaningful. What does it suggest about this character's personality? Personal qualities? Etc. Explain your thinking.
Anwser one: Jamar says " this boy had better start explaining things to me, or he's gunna have a few more cuts that need to be treated." I think that this quote from Jamar sort of shows that he is a over protective brother . Or he might just want his sister to make sure she dates somone that wont hurt her.I think that from seeing this Jamar doesnt approve of tom becuase he is smaller or not what Jamar pictured his sister Denyse liking or dating.He might also think that Denyse is too young to have a boyfreind.
Q2:What were your feelings and first impressions after reading the opening chapters of this book? Explain
Anwser 2: Well after reading the first chapter or 2 of the book i thought it was going to be about 2 kids just starting to date while having diffrent skin colour. But after reading the next few chapters i learned that it not only just shows you that they like each other but i felt that Eric Walters the author did a good job at incorporating all the facts of racism and jealousy into the book without making it boring and un-entertaining. I sort of felt happy that this book was as good to read as other great books i have read.
